Today, May 2, 2005 a new weblog is born. It joins the tens of thousands of existing weblogs on the Net. It is my hope this weblog becomes a major destination for people who wish to speak out.

Since my earliest days my passion has been the First Amendment to the United States Constitution. This becomes Daily Speech's weblog header. I believe the First Amendment encapsulates the most important rights of American citizens.

This weblog will exercise those precious rights with an open-minded progressive philosophy, while encouraging all viewpoints as a way to promote diverse dialog and understanding. 

I ask people who post to keep profane language to a minimum and to be respectful of one another. I will not tolerate threats of violence or clearly illegal speech.
